Question: What Am I Currently Working On?

Ideas

I am actually working on several things at the moment, doing a bit of a juggling act.

Now, when you say working for a writer, this may not always look like physically writing, or at least for me this isn’t always the case. A lot of my writing starts first in my head. I like to experiment with ideas, get to know characters, and if the idea sticks and grows, then I set out and do a brainstorming session.

Now that you know a little more about my process, I can tell you about my current works in progress.

My current active work in progress is The Cliff: A Web Novel. You can read the first two chapters here. This story is about an estranged couple who must work together to defeat a Dark Walker, a heart ripping, soul-light stealing creature, before it has the chance to kill more people. I will release The Cliff bi-weekly on this website.

I have two short stories in my head right now. They are the companion stories to my flash fiction piece, An Uncomfortable Ride, published in Adelaide Literary Journal. One from the perspective of the passenger and another from the perspective of the homeless man. I feel like this will make the night of the uncomfortable ride complete. I plan to release these through Coffee House Writers in April.

The Light Within is a novel I am working on. In this novel you will meet the twins, Gabby and Meghan. Aiden will meet up with Gabby and they will race against time, using their powers to save the lives of those with powers against a twisted mind bent on destroying their kind. I am in the beginning stages of this novel and hope to finish within the next year.

Talk to me! What are you working on? Do you only work on one story at a time or do you juggle? What does your writing process look like? I’d love to hear from you.
